Winding Ways

One down....142 to go!

Fabrics from Canton Village Quilt Works

Just keep cutting :0)
This is the start of a wedding quilt. I think only batiks can give this nice flow of colors.  I hope to have this done by Sept. in time for the wedding on 9-10-11.

The first one is in a purple colorway and the second in pink.  I also wanted to show you some of the scrappy fabric that went into these quilts.  This is the last mystery quilt  Bonnie Hunter did on her blog.....I'm already thinking about her the next one :0)

Update:  Bonnie let me know this evening that the pattern will be pulled from her blog June 1st.   After that you'll have to wait to get the pattern in  her  future book.
Well now that is something fun to look forward to :0) A new Bonnie Hunter book!

Happy Birthday Carol

Good Friday my DH and I drove up to NH to surprise my dear friend Carol for her 60th Birthday! We surprised her at her desk at work then whisked her off to a great seafood dinner.
Saturday morning I presented her with one of my favorite Bonnie Hunter patterns  " Jared takes a wife".
She was thrilled and we had the best time with her family and friends celebrating a new milestone.
We have been newlyweds, moms and now grandmothers together.........life is good :0)

Infinite Variety Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts

Is it appliqued?  It must be because I can see no piecing.  Look at the quilting.  It is just the loveliest work.  Have you ever seen this pattern anywhere?  I sure haven't.  Happy Sewing, Kim

Infinite Variety Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts

This quilt is unlike any I have ever seen.  At the bottom is embroidered  "Palo Alto.   Postcard".
I have no idea what the shapes represent but they are appliqued over and over on the quilt top.

Must have come from California though right?       Happy Sewing, Kim
