This quilt is unlike any I have ever seen. At the bottom is embroidered "Palo Alto. Postcard".
I have no idea what the shapes represent but they are appliqued over and over on the quilt top.

I was thinking it had to be the print on the fabrics, but applique?!!!! WOW! I just can't imagine doing that much applique. What dedication. Thanks for sharing. (It could have been made in Mexico - those ladies are amazing needlewomen.)

ReplyDeleteI thought they were folk art horses that pulled sleds...
we stood there for awhile trying to come up with what these were...unicorns? I thought the folk art horse and carriage was tied to the weathervane post!
