Orca Bay, designed by Bonnie Hunter and made with the quiltvillechat group as an online mystery. |
Bonnie Hunter designs a quilt then gives it to us as a mystery. It is so fun to sew it section by section then watch it come together as the clues mount up to a full sized quilt.
The one in the picture is now in one of Bonnie's books and you can't get the pattern for free. Her books are amazing, crammed with quilts, techniques and easy to follow instructions. I hope you take advantage of this generous offer and enjoy sewing the mystery over the holidays with Bonnie.
I'm going to link up with Amanda Jean over at finish it up finish it up Friday :0) and Sara over at Can I get a whoop whoop? :0), come see what's getting done by all the other bloggers.
Happy Sewing, I can't believe it is really November, Kim

I really love this pattern - yours is great!!!! Congratulations!!!
Oh man what a beautiful quilt! I love the colors and the pop of red for the binding. Great quilt!
Beautiful! The colors just POP!
I have never done a Bonnie Hunter mystery, but saw the fabric info the other day. Your beautiful quilt has inspired me to "Jump in." Excitement builds!
I rather like this one, mine is just a top, no borders yet.
I didn't do this one, but I am doing this years mystery, pulling softer colours, look forward to seeing your choices Kim! Your Orca Bay turned out beautiful of course!
Wow! It looks great!!
Very pretty - I like the red binding. My top is done, but not quilted, and I've been thinking about what to bind it with. I'm going ahead with the new mystery anyway - as far as I'm concerned, if a top is done, I can start something else. LOL
Congratulations on finishing Orca Bay! It's a beautiful quilt.
wow, done just in time. I did last year too but do not have the top done yet. Maybe in the next few weeks so I can start the next one with a little less gilt. Good for you. Looks good.
Wow! That's an accomplishment. I've never done a mystery quilt before, but I'm thinking of doing this one.
Nice finish. Mine is still in bits and pieces and uncut fabric...lol
The quilt came out great! And thanks for the link to the new mystery. It looks tempting.
I am so happy for your grand finish, Kim. This quilt was so impressive, every version I saw. All I finished was the 72 mini blue string blocks, lol! I'll use them on something ~
:-}pokey
This is beautiful. I have never done a mystery but sooo tempted to do Bonnie's next one!!
