Pat Sloan's sew alongs

Pat Sloan has so many sew alongs going on :0) and what fun they are!  I am doing two of them at this time.  Splendid Sampler 2 and her newest is Merry and Bright, the every Wed. new block sew along.

Sweet Land of Liberty month 7

Making progress with my Sweet Land of Liberty blocks, but I scorched my fish :0(  I tried to cover it with the addition of thread and another bit over the top of the fish but maybe when the quilting is done it won't be noticeable.....I'll have to be more careful!

Splendid Sampler ll block 2

Block number two.  I really like this block but when I finished with the applique the block was 1/4 inch too small in both directions.....well that won't work :0(

So I tried again and used a solid piece of fabric for the background, cut it larger than needed then cut it down to 6.5 inches after the applique.

If you love to dig holes at the beach please please please fill them back in.  Not only are they dangerous for our nesting sea turtles they cause may accidents to fellow beach visitors.

Retirement gift

 Bonnie Hunter's "On Ringo Lake" mystery was gifted to my nursing school friend who just retired.  I couldn't think of a nicer person to receive this quilt  than my good friend Pat.  You can't easily make old friends that have known you half your life :0).  Congratulations Pat for you nearly 40 years of service!

Sweet Land of Liberty

A new sew along on "Humble Quilts" no pattern just winging it...made my USA blocks too small so just added a strip of fabric to the top and bottom.  My challenge with this quilt will be to do most of it by machine.....even the lettering.   Happy Sewing, Kim

On Ringo Lake

 I put this up on my window and Blook how it matches my sewing studio color :0) ( I didn't pick this color it was in the house when we bought it :0).)

Made this one half size due to lack of melon color.  Happy Sewing and Thanks Bonnie Hunter for another delightful mystery.
