In the July/ August issue of "Quiltmaker" Magazine.

I think this is a fine looking quilt.  When I was a new quilter I would have been very unhappy with how I made this quilt and probably would have done many remakes and "unsewing".  Now I have learned to enjoy the piecing process, to relax about my mistakes, and imperfections in my projects.  Do they really take away from this quilt? Will these errors, that I am going to share with you, reduce the enjoyment the recipient receives from this quilt?  NO :0) I don't think so........ do you?

Two different stripes to make one pinwheel

Two different colors for border....two orange, two yellow

 pieced together shapes for triangles

Here is the basic foundation piece

side #1 cover with solid piece of fabric

I am using scraps and this piece will not cover the foundation shape #2

this corner is not covered

this is a scrappy quilt so I can just add a piece on

now the foundation is covered

cut away paper and fabric from cut line making sure to have 1/4 inch seem line all around foundation piece

there are several of these pieced together in my quilt.

Spring

New Hampshire hike

 One of my favorite things is being outside.
This is a park in NH near the Weirs Beach area of LakeWinnipesaukee where we hiked.  Lovely!

More Peonies

We are headed for some really hot days coming up this week so I quick took some pictures of the peonies before they get fried.  Sadly, I believe this is the last of the blooms until next year.

This is the start of a wedding quilt. I think only batiks can give this nice flow of colors.  I hope to have this done by Sept. in time for the wedding on 9-10-11.

Peonies

The first peonies are in bloom!
And look how many more are yet to open.  Many of these peonies are over 100 years old.

Finally these tops are done and off to Debby Brown to be quilted!

The first one is in a purple colorway and the second in pink.  I also wanted to show you some of the scrappy fabric that went into these quilts.  This is the last mystery quilt  Bonnie Hunter did on her blog.....I'm already thinking about her the next one :0)

Update:  Bonnie let me know this evening that the pattern will be pulled from her blog June 1st.   After that you'll have to wait to get the pattern in  her  future book.
Well now that is something fun to look forward to :0) A new Bonnie Hunter book!

The Peony
