Tapestries from the Clositers

I found the detail stitched into these tapestries so enchanting I included many pictures so you can see too.  No flash is allowed but I could take as many pictures as I wanted.  Enjoy.

Why police on horseback in NYC ?

So from the eighth floor I can hear a horse walking down the street, it is a police officer on horseback riding the wrong way down a one way street.

He walked the horse to the end of the street.

makes the horse do a side way walk like he is parallel parking him

then stand there on the horse watching traffic

Why?  Imagine how much it cost to take care of these animals.  I wonder how many there are on the force?

I got to see the Letterman show yesterday, Emma Watson ( Harry Potter) was the guest.
This is my girlfriends sister Kaye, we have known each other since 1972, she is living in Brooklyn these days.
We had a great time at the taping of the show.....really good fun, if you have the chance go and it's free!

Scrappy quilt with NYC skyline border added.
Hmmmmmm what next?

Do you donate quilts?

I belong do a group that makes tiny gowns, fleece  and knit blankets, hats and toys for preemies,
I also donate quilts to Quilts of Valor and a few other charities.
But honestly seeing this video made me feel like everything I have ever donated
has real value.  You just never know when what you have made will touch a heart
and make a difference.
Please watch this video if you donate quilts, it will warm your heart :0)
donate if you can :0) and Happy Sewing,
This scrappy quilt went to a wounded female Marine in 2010.

Ligaya Siachongco's Quilt

Read more about this quilt here........
This quilt has so much going on, the center is a clock that is set into a tiny 3d well made
with beautiful stitches and detail.  I would have to give her very high marks for inventiveness and use of fabric.
I am so glad I did not have to judge this challenge.

What would Gwen do next?

Playing with Victoria's scraps

What would Gwen Marston do next?  Probably add a border of some type.
We'll see.

Happy Spring!

I walked on over to the City quilt today :0)

Bought some NYC fabric.
This was designed for the Grand Central Terminal's Centennial, later this week I will walk over
to see the quilt show of thirty quilts selected through a competition organized by the City Quilter and American Patchwork &
Quilting Magazine, being shown at the NY Transit Museum Gallery Annex which is right in the train station.

Had to have this fabric
I even saw some snowdrops blooming along the way.   The snow has melted, the sun is shining, it must be Spring :0)

And this fabric too :0)

Happy St. Patrick's Day from NYC

Kilts were plentiful on 5th Ave.!

along with adorable  Irish  step dancers

It was bitter cold and I was dressed very warmly from head to toe but that is me with some pipers from Babylon, Long Island

I love bagpipes and we got to hear some great bands today!
