Infinite Variety Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts
Is it appliqued? It must be because I can see no piecing. Look at the quilting. It is just the loveliest work. Have you ever seen this pattern anywhere? I sure haven't. Happy Sewing, Kim

Infinite Variety Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts
This quilt is unlike any I have ever seen. At the bottom is embroidered "Palo Alto. Postcard".
I have no idea what the shapes represent but they are appliqued over and over on the quilt top.
Must have come from California though right? Happy Sewing, Kim

Infinite Variety Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts
I found this quilt very interesting. It is appliqued but has a secondary repeating pattern. Was it used as a fund raiser? Was it a signature quilt given to a fire chief as a gift? Doesn't it look like the fireman emblem?
Can you see the date inked on this block? 1899.
What do you think? Happy Sewing, Kim

Infinite Variety Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts
I loved this show so much.
I have decided to make this red and white quilt called "winding ways" I have ordered the fabric from Jackie at Canton Villiage Quilt Works some solid red Kona's called "Cardinal" and "Snow white". The Marti Michell templates are all set to go. Now all I have to do is make the time.
This embroidered Red Cross quilt was used as local fund raiser back in the day and has the name of my home town on it. I was thrilled to see a bit of local history.
Yes, right there Pokeytown!

Birds
Have you been caught up in Spring time birth of the Eagles around the country?
The last egg hatched Wednesday evening on the nest in Iowa, coming out of his baseball sized egg like a fluff of cotton.
In Virginia the 3 eaglets are growing so fast and eating so much the parents are working nonstop.
Meanwhile, my little Owl quilt is coming to life and just needs some time to take form. Maybe I should get off the computer away from the eagle cams and return to my sewing machine. Happy Sewing, Kim
