peppermint candies quilt

One block done after joining 8 sections
ironing seams open after removing paper
I have a love / hate relationship with paper piecing.  First I love the accuracy with paper piecing but I hate  the  mess of removing the paper.
This block came together perfectly, look how those seams come together to form the peppermint candy....yeah I love that part!

I'll show the whole quilt after it is released by Quiltmaker mag., this pattern was shown in the  Oct. /Nov. issue but did not look anything like this. :0)  Happy Sewing, Kim

Beth's rag doll tutorial

Beth had the cutest rag doll on her blog,
then I got lucky because she did a super easy to follow
tutorial.  I just had to make one and in my rush I stuffed her with
left over cotton batting instead of polyfil so she is a bit lumpy.
I don't think it will matter because she will be sitting in the crib of a newborn.
Now, my doll has to wait for her baby to be born next month :0).

My dress is made from leftover fabric used to cover the bulletin board in the baby's room.

The joy in spending time with a little two year old.
This is my dear friends grandchild, Quin, I recently spent a week in Maine helping take care of him while his Mom recovered from an abdominal injury.  What FUN for me!
