Snow 2-11-13

Swimming anyone?  This is a picture of our diving board :0)

DH manhandling the snowblower.

A view down our street after the plow came by.

By now everyone has heard the news about our snow storm in the Northeast. We were really lucky it was a dry snow up here which kept the power lines from coming down.  We're all dug out but getting an icy mix this morning and the lights are flickering.  My last winter in the north is going to memorable :0).  Warm wishes and Happy Sewing, Kim

Home again

Posies as a Christmas tree like Jackie suggested :0)

Have any suggestions on how this could become a quilt?  It think it might look cute raw edge quilted on  a pieced back ground..even though this is only a layout I'm posting with Crazy Mom Quilts  because I am so happy to be able to blog again :0).  Happy Sewing, Kim

After 10 days away in NYC we arrived home in a snow storm, got 6 inches of snow overnight and lost power for 3 hours.  All is well after clearing the snow, getting our mail and settling back into our home :0).  I hope everyone had the Merriest Christmas ever and we all have a blessed 2013 with more random acts of love and kindness.  Happy Sewing, Kim

Olympic Park Utah

I've always been fascinated with the Olympic pin trading.  These were arranged  inside a snow flake design and reminded me of a appliqued tile quilt.
Add caption

some of the 2002 pins

so many of them just for trading!

Here we are near the bobsled run right before it started to rain.

a photo op station :0)

We were in the Olympics Park for some world cup skeleton runs.

The center of temple square is of course the Mormon Temple of Salt Lake City. It is majestic!
Everything in temple square is open to visitors except the temple.

Just takes 2

I got three blocks hand appliqued while traveling this past week.
Slowly but surely I will get this quilt made!  I have to show something over at Judy's so this is it :0). Happy Sewing, Kim

Block 72.  I cut out the design in freezer paper first then ironed the red fabric to the paper before appliqueing the design.

Taken from the Olympic park in Utah.
