I made this little dress from a one-zee for my sweet granddaughter.
It is a pattern from Vanilla House designs.......you start with a one-zee
and make the skirt. I found this great cupcake material and made this in
an afternoon. Its wrapped and boxed up so I can mail it to Lily tomorrow.

Christmas Lights with Tonya,s freestyle letters
. This is another Bonnie Hunter mystery.
I used her colors suggestions then seeing how all the quilts were looking
alike on her chat group I decided to liberate it a bit. So I went to Tonya's
inspiring tutorials and came up with the message " Merry Christmas" complete with
snowflakes......or are they wrapped gifts like my friend Debby saw.
This quilt is an example of using scraps... bits and of this and that...shirts are included too.
And even though the letters are very wonky it all works to come together to a pretty
cute quilt. I'm gonna back this with flannel and send it to my nephew to snuggle
under with his girls.

Shakespeare in the Park
I am making Judy Martin's pattern "Shakespeare in the Park"
in two different colorways and two different sizes. It comes from her
book " The Creative Pattern Book".
A group of us are doing it with a leader ( Linda) online so we can
actually get it done this time....this is my third attempt at trying
to make this great looking quilt. Its coming along :0).

Friends
Evan loved the flannel backing the best.......
Micah loved that hers was long enough, because at 13...she is 5' 10"!
I had so much fun delivering these quilts in person and seeing how much they
will be used and loved :0)
This picture was taken in 1993 down in NYC the day Denise was sworn
into the NY Bar, ( she also has been admitted to Texas and Fla. Bars).
We laughed at how cute and proper we both looked in this picture and were
amazed at all the changes in our lives in the last 16 years......... like the birth of
these 3 great kids!

Evan and Jordan's birthday quilts
Evan is nine years old today but he will get his quilt on Sunday. I think these crumb quilts are just terrific for kids.
Jordan will be eleven next month but will get his quilt early since we will be visiting this Sunday.
Both of these quilts have scraps I used in their baby quilts...........not so long ago :0).

A new quilt is started
I just joined a new Yahoo group that is a spin off from Stashbusters called
SITP....."Shakespeare in the Park"..it takes this complex pattern
and breaks it down into doable sections.
Linda is leading us and this is where we are so far :0).
Now to catch up on those Bunny Hill blocks because the Oct.
block is out and I still August and Sept. to finish........ Happy Sewing :0)

"Little quilts"
These two quilts were made from the same book years apart....this one hangs in my granddaughters room, it measures about 32" x 37". The patterns are by Alice Berg, Mary Ellen Von Holt, and Sylvia Johnson. I've made maybe 20 of their little quilts :0).
This little quilt use to hang in my daughters room when she was a little girl. It measures 18''x25'', I made it from the book" Celebrate with Little Quilts". I just loved these little baskets. Sadly I have no idea when I made this because there is no label....but nearly 20 years ago :0).

scraps
My string quilt is coming along and I think at this point I may add some sashing to separate the blocks and call it done and use it for a baby quilt. I am thinking about adding the name of the recipient in the borders using the freestyle letters I so love from Tonya.
It sure is a fun and mindless block that goes together quickly. I actually used a light colored fabric for the foundation which is the middle strip of each block.
This is my first try at string blocks but will certainly not be my last :0). Bonnie has so many great ideas on her site for string quilts.
This baby block and little ribbon tab baby quilt are my interpretation of the project over at the Moda Bake shop done by Nicole this week. She of course used new and delightful Moda prints but I used some scraps. I used a piece of scrap Fleece for the backing and she used the baby friendly minki, but the idea is the same. Which is to have the ribbon tabs sticking out so a baby can play with them. I highly recommend the Moda site for great ideas and tutorials. http://www.modabakeshop.com/.

scraps and the end of summer
I am ankle deep in scraps up in my sewing room.....time to sew some of them up and get them out the house. Have you noticed that scraps never really get used up they just keep multiplying?
I love the beauty of a perfect morning glory
One of my shade loving peonies going to seed. Yes, these are the true colors.
Its been a very wet cool summer here in Pokeytown, the vegetables didn't produce much, we had no tomatoes and no summer days with temperatures above the 80's. And now its nearly over.

Tiny toy Elephant
This 4.5 inch elephant is on the hunt! I made this for my dear granddaughter Lily to go with her elephant quilt for her birthday. Its from "Sewing tiny toys" by Carolyn Vosburg Hall. Her book gives the best directions with pictures. I enjoyed sewing this by hand, I stuffed it with leftover pieces of wool batting........isn't he cute?

Little wall hangings
Happy scraps :0) made into a little log cabin..the logs are .5 inch finished, this hangs upstairs in my hallway and is a 24" square
This little tumbling block quilt was made in 1989 completely by hand, it is a 22" square. I remember dragging these pieces around to my childrens activities to keep me busy while I waited.
